A beautiful day!

Fall is in the air!  I could smell it!

Al and Paula (Jack's parents) came for a visit before they head back to Florida in a couple weeks.  We had a nice visit this morning and then they took us out to lunch at Red Lobster.  Jack was a bit obnoxious and commented several times "why's it called Red Lobster?  All the lobsters in that tanks are black!  It should be Black Lobsters!"  (eye roll)  Our food was delicious.  Annie continued her tradition of turning whatever was left on her plate into an art project.  She eats as fast as her Dad and always seems to be waiting while Jake and I finish.

After lunch we stopped by the house to get Jake something neon to wear to band practice.  Annie offered a couple options.  Oh, how I wish he would have let me take a picture but he opted to wear a plain white T and text a friend asking if he could borrow something.  He came home in a neon green t-shirt.

Jack took his Dad to the Sprint store to get a new telephone.  They have made the decision to get rid of their landline telephones and both carry wireless.  Since the boys were going out, the girls decided we should to go to one of Annie's favorite stores - Charming Charlies - and do a bit of shopping ourselves.  It's a super neat accessories store.  Paula got a some earrings.  Annie got a necklace and earrings and I got a necklace.
The picture doesn't do it justice.  (Sorry!)

Annie really wanted these sunglasses but she'll have to wait til next time!
You can't really see the cute pink bow in the corner.  So sweet!

An interesting topic of conversation lately has been who has bigger feet.  I realize this is a bit of a random thought - but today we have photographic proof...
Jake's foot is on the right - Annie's on the left.  Whoa!
(Jake has trying to stretch his as much as possible.)

Now the question is - who's going to be taller?  Jake's feet haven't grown in a year and a half.  Annie's grew from a size 6.5-7 last Spring to a size 8.5-9 now!   And I was nervous buying her shoes for school, so I got her a size 9 giving her a little wiggle room.

Jack's folks were able to go out and watch a bit of Jake's rehearsal - but unfortunately they never got to hear them play.  They are still working out the kinks on part 4 of their show.  Hopefully someone will put one of their competitions on YouTube and we will be able to share the bands hard work with them.

With the Missouri kick-off at 6:30 pm Al and Paula were a bit anxious to get home.  It was a short but enjoyable visit!

I've been singing a song about baby teacup pigs for the last several days.  Annie HATES it!  I have Jack and Jake singing it now too.  Not to be mean.  It's just stuck in my head.  Annie accidentally stepped on my toes.  I said, "OUCH, MY PIGS!"  And Annie said, "yeah, your baby teacup pigs!"  Then we both laughed.  Me in pain.  Her in amusement.

Annie dressed up for her girls... Jack was so proud to see her in black and gold.
She wasn't feeling particularly photogenic.

Jack smoked baby back ribs for dinner.  Delicious... with a spicy bite that snuck up on you.  I might need Dairy Queen to cool this fire!  (Hint, hint!)

YEAH!  MIZZOU just scored!

As soon as the game is over I'm off to DQ!  Come on Missouri, let's win this game!
